ODR: the essential requirement for websites and apps

Since 2016, the owners of the e-commerce sites and applications of the European Union are obliged to inform their customers of the use of the ODR, that is the online tool for the resolution of disputes in the sale that will be managed by the European Commission.

The ODR (online dispute resolution) is a service that allows consumers from the European Union to submit complaints relating to goods purchased online, the companies that manage these activities are obliged to inform their customers about the possibility of using this tool and must insert the link to the ODR PLATFORM (Online Dispute Resolution) managed by the European Commission.
The European consumer must be aware that the European Commission has created an online platform that provides non-judicial advice for the resolution of disputes arising from the sale of goods.
Finding an out-of-court settlement through a community body is faster and cheaper than an appeal through legal means and from 15 February 2016 every e-commerce owner must inform their customers that this service exists and is available for free.
