The good, the bad, and the vital. The power of online reviews is undeniable. So how can e-commerce and, more generally, businesses stay on top of the feedback game?

The burden of choice

Choice. It’s a beautiful thing. Yet have you ever gone online to find an electrician, carpet installer, or dog walker and been overwhelmed by the number of options? Have you ever found yourself scanning the online review section, looking for those sacred five stars to help make your decision easier? Have you ever seen the word “terrible” pop up and another reviewer’s opinion solidified your own?

The mentality of the consumer pack

We might think of ourselves as autonomous beings capable of making independent decisions. But the truth is that consumers have a herd mentality: We’re very influenced by our peers, especially when faced with choice overload. In a 2021 study, 87% of respondents admitted to reading at least one online review before visiting a local business, while a whopping 94% said a negative review made them avoid interacting with that business altogether. Reviews are a highly valued source of online information, twice as likely to influence customer decision-making as loyalty and 7.4 times more likely than traditional marketing.

Beyond e-commerce

And consumers aren’t just using reviews when shopping online. Research shows that 82% of shoppers are researching products and reading reviews on their cell phones while looking at the same product in-store. Invaluable to customers, essential to businesses, reviews can mean the difference between an open wallet and a closed browser or store door.

We trust in good feedback

So what wisdom should businesses take from these statistics? If glowing reviews of a service or product increase conversions and negative reviews drive away potential customers, then a good review should be a valuable asset. As should positive feedback on social media. Even if that feedback doesn’t drive immediate sales, it can help build a business’s credibility and create lasting trust. The review process itself allows businesses and customers to build a relationship with each other, and that reciprocity will lead to better business in the long run.

Celebrate the good. Respond to the bad.

That means ignoring a positive review or not responding to a negative review is missing a trick. Businesses should share praise and encourage positive interaction on social media, without gloating or exaggerating, while using negative reviews as an opportunity to show they care and care. Remember, reviews are a two-way street. They spark conversation, they generate attention, they give businesses a chance to adapt and improve. All serve not only to engage customers, but ideally to hold on to them.

The Star Factor

So what kind of reviews should businesses be hoping for? And what differentiates a good review from a great one, in terms of impact? There’s no denying that star ratings are important: a simple, visual way for consumers to make a confident, informed purchase. Customers look for a minimum of 3.4 stars before they’ll even consider engaging with a business, so the impact of a one-star review can be damaging, especially if there aren’t many reviews posted in the first place.

Frequency is key

This means that the quantity of reviews is just as important, if not more important, than the star factor. A Stanford University study found that people choose products on Amazon with more reviews than competitors, even when the alternatives have higher average scores. More reviews also mean better SEO, with new feedback helping to drive the content machine and keep companies on the algorithm’s radar.

Consistency and relevance

Consistency is also key for brands to build and maintain a good reputation. If one customer review waxes lyrical about a company and another tells others to avoid it like the plague, it leads to consumer uncertainty. But if a customer is greeted with a chorus of “superb!” and “awesome!”, then they are able to quickly form an opinion and act with confidence. The more recent the reviews are, the more weight they carry. In fact, a recent study showed that 85% of consumers believe that reviews older than three months are no longer relevant. Five stars. Frequent. Consistent. Recent. Together, these four things are your golden ticket when it comes to building a positive online presence.

Staying true

Finally, there is authenticity. Businesses can't just put their positive reviews on display for all to see. They need to make sure they are authentic. According to a survey by TotalRetail, if buyers suspect that a product has fake reviews, 36% would not buy it and 28% would not trust the brand again. Trust is critical to the success of all relationships, especially those between a company and its customers. So, keep it real.

Making it easier….

The Internet has brought everything imaginable to our fingertips: organic grocery delivery, telehealth, a new car delivered to our door. But online reviews play a critical role in this purchasing process and can impact everything from trust and loyalty to sales and SEO. The power of online reviews is undeniable. But 20% of customers, while reading them often, have never written one.

…to spread the love

Research has shown that after having a good experience with a company, consumers are much more likely to leave feedback if they receive an invitation via text or email. Therefore, companies should define their review strategy and stay proactive by adopting the review system, encouraging more customers to provide feedback, and making it easier for them to spread the love.

L'articolo Perché le recensioni online sono importanti per i siti web di e-commerce? sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

In 2022, analysts found that approximately 49% of all emails sent worldwide were identified as spam. In fact, it is not difficult to notice the enormous amount of garbage that clogs up our inbox, both professional and personal.

If left unchecked, the situation risks becoming unsustainable, with hundreds of spam emails threatening to “hide” the few truly important emails we receive. In the workplace, then, this issue takes on even greater importance, because we cannot afford to miss vital communications, swamped by useless junk emails.

How to solve this problem? The solution exists and we'll tell you about it.

Understanding spam

First of all, it is essential to understand what spam means. This term indicates all those unsolicited messages that we receive via email from addresses we do not know and to which we have never given our email address.

Junk emails very often have an advertising purpose, but they can also be much more dangerous attempts phishing aimed at stealing personal information. These messages can not only disturb, but also expose users to security risks for their personal data.

Where do junk emails come from?

But how do spammers get your email address? Where do these annoying emails come from? One of the most popular options is advertising communications by companies via newsletters.

You may have signed up for a newsletter, perhaps without even realizing it, and have therefore given your consent to receive emails for commercial purposes. In this case, simply click on the unsubscribe button, required by law, which you generally find at the bottom of the email.

In a second possible case, spammers (illegally) purchase contact lists from equally dishonest companies or people, perhaps even from sites that, as mentioned above, offer a newsletter service to subscribe to. There is also the possibility that these spammers have hacked a site or provider, stealing email address lists.

There is then a third very widespread option, in which spammers use "email address harvesting" programs to scan the web looking for pages that contain email addresses (if you have a profile on any social network, for example, the your e-mail address is in the public domain).

The fourth and final possibility is called "brute force". These are programs that automatically generate a huge number of email addresses, hoping to find addresses that actually exist.

How to protect yourself? Spam filters

There most email services most well-known offers anti-spam filters that are continuously updated to recognize and isolate spam emails. Make sure these filters are enabled and configured correctly in your inbox settings:

Check your filter settings: Make sure the protection level is set to a level that effectively balances the capture of junk emails and the delivery of legitimate emails;

update regularly: Email service providers frequently update their algorithms to combat new spamming techniques. Keep your system updated to take advantage of these improvements;

check spam: since this is an automatic process, it may happen that an important email ends up in spam. Check it regularly to avoid missing good emails.

Blacklists and whitelists

Setting up blacklists and whitelists can dramatically reduce the volume of junk emails:

blacklist: Add email addresses from which you frequently receive junk emails to your blacklist to permanently block them;

whitelist: Whitelist email addresses of trusted senders to ensure their messages aren't mistaken for spam.

Be careful with attachments and links

Junk and phishing emails often disguise themselves as harmless attachments or links. Avoid opening attachments or clicking links in unsolicited or suspicious emails. This is essential to protect your online security.

Education and training

Being informed about the latest tactics used by spammers can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to junk emails. Many companies now offer training on the security risks associated with junk email and best practices for avoiding it.

Spam reporting

Don't just delete junk emails; report them As such. This not only improves your filter's ability to recognize similar future threats, but also helps your email service provider improve filters for all users.

Use of third-party software

For even more robust protection, consider installing third-party anti-spam software. These programs offer advanced, customizable features that can provide a higher level of security than the standard filters offered by email providers.

Conclusion

Keeping your inbox free of spam is essential not only for your productivity, but also for your personal safety. By implementing a multi-layered strategy that includes using spam filters, managing blacklists and whitelists, and staying informed about how to recognize and report junk email, you can significantly reduce the impact of spam on your digital life. Remember, a cleaner inbox isn't just more organized; it is also safer.

L'articolo Come bloccare efficacemente le e-mail spam – La guida completa sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

As 2024 begins, Gmail and Yahoo are poised to introduce major updates to their email management policies that will significantly impact your email marketing strategies.

These updates aim to increase security and combat the phenomenon of spam, underlining the importance of adopting authentication measures such as DMARC, SPF and DKIM. This article aims to analyze the new directives, their repercussions on email sending strategies and strategies to ensure uninterrupted transmission of your communications. Let's find out together how to navigate these crucial changes.

Understand the new Gmail and Yahoo guidelines

The upcoming regulations from Gmail and Yahoo mark a significant change inemail marketing, imposing, as already mentioned, email authentication via specific protocols such as DMARC, SPF is DKIM starting February 2024. These measures aim to minimize spam and strengthen the security of email communications.

We'll explore what these rules mean, their impact on mass emailing, and the importance for marketers and businesses to adopt these standards to protect their communications and business strategies.

Email authentication: Adopting DMARC, SPF and DKIM

Gmail and Yahoo will introduce enhanced authentication requirements, requiring the application of standards such as DMARC, SPF is DKIM. These protocols ensure that emails sent are authentic, reducing the risk of phishing and spam. In particular:

The DMARC validation system provides domain owners with a tool to define how to handle emails that fail SPF and DKIM checks, helping to prevent abuse;

SPF it is an authentication standard that verifies the origin of emails, ensuring that they come from authorized servers;

Finally, the DKIM authentication method adds a digital signature to emails, allowing recipients to verify the authenticity and integrity of the message.

Adhering to these standards will not only improve your reputation as a sender but also the effectiveness of yours email campaigns.

Differences in policies depending on email volume

Gmail and Yahoo will apply different policies based on the volume of emails sent, with less stringent rules for the domains they send less than 5,000 emails per day and more stringent requirements for larger volumes. This approach aims to balance security with flexibility for small mailings, while ensuring that larger volume campaigns are handled securely.

Consequences of non-compliance and the importance of DMARC

Ignoring new policies can have negative effects, such as the risk of being flagged as spam or blocked by Gmail, compromising both the effectiveness of the campaigns and the reputation of the domain. DMARC plays a crucial role in filtering genuine emails from fraudulent ones, which is essential for maintaining trust in email communications.

Steps for adhering to the new regulations

Setting up DMARC and other authentication protocols correctly is critical. This includes the configuration of DNS records specific to DMARC, SPF and DKIM and their monitoring to ensure compliance and effectiveness of your email campaigns. It's crucial to test your setup to identify and fix any issues, ensuring your emails are properly authenticated and delivered.

The importance of SPF and DKIM

Implementing SPF and DKIM is vital to email deliverability and the protection of your domain. These standards help verify the authenticity of your communications, improving delivery and reducing the risk of phishing.

Professional services for optimal configuration

To maximize email deliverability, professional services assistance in configuring DMARC, SPF, and DKIM can be invaluable. These services offer customized solutions, strategic advice and monitoring tools, essential for navigating the evolving digital landscape and protecting your email communications.

Don't know how to do it? Contact us! We will solve your problems!

The new email campaigns

In conclusion, adapting to the new policies of Gmail and Yahoo is a crucial step in ensuring that your emails continue to effectively reach your recipients, while protecting the security and reputation of your domain.

L'articolo Nuove politiche Gmail e Yahoo da febbraio 2024 – Cosa fare per mantenere l’efficienza delle campagne email sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

Because it is precisely with this in mind that our new service was designed. But why should your business use Whatsapp?

How does it work? And what advantages does it offer?

How does it work?

Thanks to automation, you don't have to do anything. The system, suitably configured by us according to your needs, will send automatic Whatsapp messages and personalized notifications, according to your needs.

What advantages does it offer?

The advantages of this new technology are many and are visible in both the short and long term:

You demonstrate empathy with the customer: today those who buy not only look at the product or service offered, but the most important thing has become the experience. By communicating on WhatsApp you create a different type of experience, with communication that is no longer from business to customers but from person to person;

Offer immediate communication: your messages arrive directly on your customer's phone, without the risk of ending up in the spam folder and without the risk of getting lost along the way with incorrect addresses. In addition, in this way your customers will be more inclined to read, and possibly respond, immediately when they see the message;

Give useful information: automatically sending updates on order status or appointment reminders improves the customer experience, who will certainly be more inclined to choose your services again;

Reduce your workload: it won't be you, or someone from your work team, to take care of these things, but it will all be managed automatically;

Engage the customer: sending newsletters directly on Whatsapp has a greater impact than the classic email. The customer will be more inclined to receive news, advice and promotions;

Remind the customer that you exist: sending automatic Whatsapp messages is an extremely effective way to remind customers that your company exists and what services it offers. According to statistics, in fact, the 98% of Whatsapp messages is read, while e-mails have much lower opening data;

Reduce booking cancellations: By reminding the customer of the next day's appointment, you prevent them from forgetting it. This is a method with proven effectiveness, which significantly reduces the number of cancellations;

You differ from your competitors: when a customer has to think about whether to address you or one of your competitors, he will evaluate which company offers the best service. In order to “win the competition” you have to know how to distinguish yourself;

Establish a relationship of trust with the customer: the more important and "pampered" the customer feels, the more he will trust your company and your services.

From Sunday 22 January Libero mail is Virgilio Mail address, the Libero and Virgilio e-mail services do not work. The blackout, which has been going on for 5 days now, prevents millions of people from accessing their mailboxes and, therefore, from receiving and sending emails.

The company has issued a statement in which, in addition to apologizing for the inconvenience, it provides an explanation of what happened and estimates recovery times in 24/48 hours. But when users will actually log in to Libero mail?

The causes of the Liberomail blackout

To date, anyone who tries to access the mailbox of Libero mail, he would be faced with a message from the Libero staff explaining the causes of the disruption:

“In recent weeks, in order to offer an increasingly better and more up-to-date service, we have introduced an innovative storage technology to support our mailboxes, supplied by an external vendor, a storage technology manufacturer used by some of the most large companies in the world. Unfortunately, an operating system bug has compromised its correct functioning and, consequently, that of the mailboxes present on it. The vendor is working tirelessly to resolve the issue, creating a fix to resolve the issue, with support from all of our internal teams.”

Practically, Libero mail has changed the storage technology used, i.e. the user data storage system. The transition to a more modern information storage technology led to a system failure, which caused the disruption.

Users are worried, not only because they can't use the service with obvious mistakes, especially for those who use the Libero mailbox for work. Since this is a problem that has affected data storage, there is a risk of information loss. In this regard, the staff of Libero mail ensures:

“However, since this is an operating system-level bug, the solution is requiring technical development times, with the primary objective of protecting data integrity. Times have been long so far, we realize that. We have been the email provider of Italians for 25 years, our users are not scattered around the world, but they are our neighbors, our friends and relatives, the professionals of our country. Therefore, we cannot fail to have the protection of Italians' data as a priority, because they are our strength. This is why we want to reopen the boxes in a definitive and stable way.”

When will the service be active again?

The company plans to restore service Libero mail and Virgilio Mail within 24/48 hours and adds:

We are aware that this creates difficulties for our users, but being the Italian mail provider requires us to be extremely serious.

Meanwhile, the Italian government has also intervened on the matter, which involves 9 million people in Italy and is the most serious blockage of an email service since the Internet has arrived in our country:

“A situation that is creating inconvenience and damage to all the professionals who use these tools. To this end, through the offices of the digital transformation department, I contacted the managing director of Italiaonline - the company that manages the two providers - in order to clarify the origins of the problem and identify as soon as possible a solution that can guarantee of user data integrity.”1

Alessio Butti, undersecretary in charge of technological innovation, speaks, echoed by Simona Loizzo, Lega deputy and member of the culture commission in the Chamber:

“It is necessary to file a class action. Since these are historical accounts, there are many users, even with professional profiles. All people who have received significant damage to their businesses. For this reason I hope that a class action will be proposed to protect the damages received and that action will be taken promptly. I also invite Agcom to open a file in order to understand the real responsibilities." 2

In the meantime, the service remains inactive and further communications are awaited from Libero mail. To stay updated on the progress of the fix operations, the Libero team adds:

“As always, we will communicate any updates through our touchpoints.”

We await news on Libero mail and Virgil Mail. Keep following us for more news and to stay updated on the latest news.

UPDATE:

As of today, Monday 30 January 2023, the alarm seems to have disappeared and (almost) all problems have been resolved. Access to the Libero and Virgilio email service is available again (with the exception of iOS users) but many users are wondering: what happened to the emails received on down days? Concrete answers are expected from the manager.

L'articolo Blackout Libero Mail – Quando si risolverà il problema? sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

If in recent days you too have received an email with the subject “Illegitimate use of Google Analytics: request for removal pursuant to art. 17 GDPR ", sent by a certain Federico Leva, don't panic.

In this article we will explain what it is, if and how to respond and how to behave in similar cases. Following the provision of the Privacy Guarantor of last 23 June, it may happen, in fact, to receive other emails with similar requests.

The case

The email in question recalls the decision of the Privacy Guarantor to prohibit the use of Google Analytics in Italy and no, it is not a fraudulent email. Although made in a manner that is not necessarily correct, the request for Federico Leva it is absolutely legitimate.

The text of the email reads:

Dear Data Controller, Dear Data Protection Officer,

I am writing to you as a user of the site _______ to request the removal of my personal data, pursuant to art. 17 ("Right of cancellation") of EU regulation 2016/679. Please respond within 31 days of receiving this letter to confirm compliance, as detailed below.

Your site incorporates Google Analytics, which transfers the personal data of all your visitors to Google in the USA. With the provision of 9 June 2022 (9782890), this was declared illegitimate by the Authority for the protection of personal data, as announced in the press release “Google: Privacy Guarantor stop the use of Analytics. Data transferred to the USA without adequate guarantees ".

The Guarantor "invites all data controllers to verify the compliance of the methods of use of cookies and other tracking tools used on their websites, with particular attention to Google Analytics and other similar services, with the legislation on the protection of personal data ", and sets a deadline of 90 days, after which it will proceed to further checks.

The email continues asking for the removal of their data and any backups, but that's enough to understand the request: Federico Leva requests the removal of their data from Google Analytics.

Is it necessary to answer? Yes, you are obliged to respond to the request within 30 days of receipt (and not 31 as indicated in the email). If not Federico Leva will be able to report your site to the Privacy Guarantor. How to answer? Let's see it.

How to reply to Federico Leva's email

As already mentioned, the request for Federico Leva it is legitimate and must therefore be fulfilled. First of all, we recommend that you respond by email and not using the form that you find linked in the request. In this way you will have a copy of the saved answer, in addition to the fact that the link mentioned above is no longer functional, since it is closed.

In order to comply with your request, you must have all the necessary information. In the reply email, ask for the following to be provided:

your IP address;

date and time of the last access to your site;

his CLIENT_ID.

Once you have received this information, you can remove the applicant from Google Analytics. Here's how to do it.

How to remove Federico Leva from GA

The procedure is very simple. As for Universal Analytics, the steps to take are:

log into Universal Analytics;

from the menu select Audience (Public);

from the submenu select User Explorer (User browsing);

choose the date of your last access;

search with its CLIENT_ID;

click the button delete user (delete user).

While for GA4:

access GA4;

from the Explore selection menu;

scroll through the options until you find User Explorer and click;

set the date of his last access;

select the user who made the request;

click the trash can symbol to delete the user.

Why did Federico Leva send this email?

Questioned on the subject Federico Leva, activist, developer and IT consultant, replied:

It's no mystery that I'm not a fan of Google Analytics. I was positively surprised by the provision of the Guarantor, which said to allow 90 days for people to wake up and then we'll see what to do.

Many people do not know that Google Analytics is in contrast with the GDPR and for this I had this idea: I simply thought of informing people of this provision.

This is why I sent the famous email: people can know that they will be able to exercise their rights. The removal request seemed peaceful enough to me.

The purpose therefore seems to be informative but other users, made aware of the matter, could follow his example and send emails with similar requests to the managers of the sites they visited.

Now you know what to answer.

On closer inspection, however, this is not a negative aspect. Users who decide for unsubscribe from the newsletter they are probably little or not at all interested in your products and would not open your email anyway. If the number of people who do not open your emails is high, there is the possibility of being "pointed out" as a spammer and therefore seeing all your email ending up in the spam. Losing this slice of the public can therefore prove to be a small problem, if not a positive thing.

Of course, if the number of unsubscribe from the newsletter is too high, then we have a problem. To avoid high rates of unsubscribe from the newsletter however, there are some precautions that can be taken. Here we are finally with the 5 useful tips to limit the number of unsubscribers.

1 - Double opt-it

The double-opt in is a double verification system which, before concluding the registration phase, asks the user to confirm that he really wants to register. In practice, this is an effective way to make sure all subscribers are interested in receiving information about your company.

Compared to the traditional method, namely the single opt-in, the double opt-in certainly brings a smaller number of subscribers, but ensures that the contacts acquired are of quality.

2 - Header

On an operational level, the first thing to take care of is the header of yours newsletter, or thesubject of the email. The latter can in fact be the discriminating factor that separates a successful newsletter campaign from a useless one. In particular, the subject of the e-mail must be interesting, but at the same time relevant. Absolutely avoid writing emails with exaggerated titles, perhaps useful to capture attention and push users to read the content, but which do not respect the content of the newsletter.

We don't just want your customers to open the email, we want to follow the path that goes there newsletter from them, which usually leads to the e-commerce site, where they can make their purchases. After all, the final goal is precisely to monetize and, to do so in the most effective way, it is useful to attract customers who find your products interesting.

In short, don't lie to your customers.

3 - Formatting

In these lines we will not dwell on the content of the newsletter, which varies according to the commercial activity of reference. The only advice in this regard is the same as in the previous paragraph: try to create interesting and relevant content.

Of course, theThe contents of the newsletter that you send periodically is obviously important, but don't forget the form. An email that is beautiful to look at and tidy immediately gives a professional air, not to mention that it is easier to read and therefore to understand. So pay special attention to the final shape of yours newsletter, also checking the result through different devices: computer and mobile on all. More and more web users, in fact, use the smartphone as their primary navigation tool.

Therefore, make sure that the email you have created is understandable, orderly and visually pleasing even when opened via a mobile phone.

4 - Feedback

There newsletter it does not necessarily have to be a "one-way" tool, but it can become an important "two-way" means of communication. In other words, you can take advantage of the newsletter not only to give information, but also to ask for it. For example, you can ask for guidance on how often your customers expect to receive information from you. This way you can avoid being annoying towards your customers.

Other information that you may collect is for example related to the products, promotions and services offered. Getting an idea of what your customers want can turn into a powerful tool for planning a marketing strategy.

5 - Separate consignments

Both in the registration phase and through the above feedbacks you now have the opportunity to steal the interests of users. Thanks to this information you can segment your audience, based on individual preferences.

By sending e-mails with different content to different users, you ensure that they receive interesting information and, as a result, it is very likely that they will continue to follow you. Conversely, users who receive uninteresting emails will be more likely to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

L'articolo Come evitare disiscrizioni alla newsletter – 5 consigli utili sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

On the 50th anniversary ofe-mail, invented by Ray Tomlinson in 1971, digital mail is still one of the tools of marketing (but not only) more important and used.

The inbox of each of us receives a large quantity of every day promotional mails, newsletter is marketing messages. For e-commerce companies that intend to take advantage of a email marketing, therefore, it becomes essential to develop a strategy to get noticed in the sea of e-mail that flood the inboxes of potential customers every day.

So what are the steps to take to prevent your campaign from email marketing sadly ends up in the spam folder? The key word is segmentation. Let's see what it is.

Audience cluster

Let's start with a definition. With the term audience clusters we mean a set of people who share common characteristics. Clusters can be grouped according to the most disparate parameters, such as age, gender, nationality and personal tastes, depending on the type of business and the objectives of your e-commerce.

When, in the previous paragraph, we talked about segmentation, the reference was precisely to audience clusters. A plan of email marketing well-researched is of fundamental importance for the success of your business, but becomes useless if you don't pay the right attention to the audience receiving the advertisement.

Therefore… Segmentation.

Nobody knows your customers like you do. Create different customer lists (which in technical jargon are also called audience segments) based on their common characteristics.

It is a long and expensive job, often managed by special programs, which today more and more companies decide to implement: CRM.

But how do you divide your clientele? And on the basis of what parameters? Depends!

It depends on several factors, first of all the type of your business. Generally speaking, the most useful and widespread categories are:

demographics: gender, age, income, education, etc;

locality: country, region, city, language, etc;

personal interests: recurring themes searched, favorite articles, etc;

interactions with the site: pages visited, products viewed, etc;

expenses made: most purchased products, amount spent, etc;

funnel market: path taken by the user on the site, abandoned cart, etc.

Once the clientele has been segmented, for each of these clusters of audiences it will be necessary to create a different and personalized e-mail.

Email marketing and privacy: the risks to avoid

Before proceeding with the massive sending, however, it is good to dwell on the question of privacy. Whatever "list building" strategy you choose to use, in fact, must deal with GDPR, English acronym for general data protection regulation.

In general, the privacy laws provide that the data of a person can be collected, saved and used for advertising purposes, only after having received the consent of the interested party. Therefore, you cannot send e-mails without the consent of the users who receive them (spam).

The management program of your e-commerce collects and stores the data of customers who register on the site and who, therefore, give their consent to the processing of their personal data. It is from these that one must start to send e-mail for marketing purposes.

But be careful, since the GDPR establishes that the data collected must be deleted when they finish their function. The deadlines are established in 12 months for profiling purposes and 24 months for marketing.

In case of illegal data processing, the penalties range from 6,000 to 36,000 euros and there is also the possibility of being banned from using other private data. Consequences that should be avoided.

One last useful tip, to avoid annoying problems and penalties, is to make sure that your site is equipped with ainformation on the Privacy Policy easily accessible, GDPR compliant and clear.

Now that we are sure we are complying with all regulations, we can proceed with sending our campaign email marketing.

Types of email marketing

Depending on the objectives to be achieved, there are different strategies that can be exploited, even in combination with each other:

advertising emails: useful for advertising specific aspects of your e-commerce, such as a new product or a special promotion.

newsletter: e-mails on a constant basis, often weekly, to keep customers updated on the latest news, on scheduled events and, in general, to remind members of their existence.

automated email marketing: it is possible to set up an automated e-mail sending, when users perform a certain action. You can schedule a welcome email for new subscribers, an automatic email that sends birthday wishes or a thank you email for purchases made.

survey email: you have probably already received an email from a site on which you have made a purchase, asking you for an opinion on the product or service you have bought. This type of email is useful for the enhancement of customers, it makes the user understand that you care about his opinion, in order to improve the service.

In a historical period in which the world economy has been tormented by numerous and unpleasant events known to all, companies find themselves having to face new daily challenges to be able to remain competitive, especially in a crowded and competitive sector such as the web.

If, on the one hand, it is true that the numerous and repeated lockdowns that characterized 2021 have favored the trade on the internet, it is equally true that it has become more difficult for the sites e-commerce, convince potential customers to spend money on their platform, due to increased competition and a reduction in the budget available to users.

At this point the solutions (by us) proposed in previous articles, while remaining valid, they are no longer sufficient. Let's see how the companies are reacting to the situation, through the use of two tools linked together: the marketing automation and theaffiliate marketing.

What is Marketing Automation?

With the term Marketing Automation the technology that allows an e-commerce to automate and optimize the workflow is defined, with obvious advantages in terms of time and money, and also offers the possibility of monitoring the results obtained.

However, the term is often the subject of confusion and misunderstanding, as it is often confused with a plan automatic spam you hate email marketing. It therefore seems necessary to clarify precisely the meaning of this concept.

When it comes to marketing automation we refer to software that can be implemented on different channels, such as social media, but which is mostly used inemail marketing.

The implementation of a system of marketing automation guarantees a series of advantages. Let's see what they are:

automate processes, such as sending newsletters weekly, programmable in advance, with a considerable saving of time;

data collection, useful for understanding what works and what doesn't within the site, thus favoring the optimization of Inbound strategies;

creation of a custom workflow for each user, based on the data collected;

possibility of identifying and inserting i lead within the corporate CRM automatically (more time saved);

analyze the data of the campaigns in progress, with the possibility of modifying and optimizing them during construction.

Affiliate marketing, what it is and how it works

About online advertising campaigns, let's now see the second tool mentioned: theaffiliate marketing.

This term indicates an evolution of the classical online campaign, which is based on the collaboration between e-commerce is publishers.

The two parties in question, in fact, agree in such a way that each conversion obtained by the publisher on behalf of the e-commerce site yields to the former a percentage set in advance (generally around 5-6%).

Therefore, unlike a traditional campaign, this type of collaboration is not based on the visibility acquired by an advertised product within a site, but on the passive income, that is the gains obtained that are not obtained through a direct intervention.

A strategy of affiliate marketing guarantees some advantages:

partnering with a well-known publisher is a quick and easy way to increase your online visibility and reputation;

an increase in visibility will consequently generate a probable increase in site traffic and sales;

Publishers receive a percentage only on actual transactions, which must be paid out by e-commerce only if a user makes a purchase;

generating profits only through conversions, publishers will be more entice you to sponsor e-commerce products;

For a strategy of affiliate marketing effective it is therefore essential to carry out a scrupulous selection of publishers. Relying on the wrong partners can lead to very few returns, at best, or even the generation of fake-leads, in the worst cases.

Affiliate marketing automation

Implementing these two strategies allows a company to remain / become competitive on the web, but, as mentioned at the beginning of the article, these two concepts are closely linked to each other.

There marketing automation, in fact, it can (and must) also be applied to a affiliate marketing, especially if the latter involves collaboration with numerous publishers.

When implementing a affiliate marketingGenerally, it is expected to leverage as many advertisers as possible in order to maximize reach and potential return visibility.

The risk in such a situation is that the project managers only deal with the most important publishers, not having time to manage the large number of partners. The introduction of an automated system, on the other hand, allows publishers to provide all the information they need in a short time, without leaving anyone out.

There marketing automationFurthermore, it is able to monitor, evaluate and perform actions on any type of interaction, including: access to the affiliate panel, updates of contact details, increase / decrease in conversion traffic, use of obsolete features, etc.

Specialized professionals

The implementation of a affiliate marketing well structured and automated, it represents one of the most effective advertising tools to date to increase the visibility and conversions of your e-commerce.

As we come to the end of what has been a very different year for all of us, it's time to think about the PPC best practices of the past few months and what we can expect for the future to further improve the performance of your paid search campaigns. Not only is this a good time to review reputable PPC best practices, but also implement new ones in PPC strategies for the future to drive your campaigns forward. Whether you use a PPC agency or have an in-house team, it's important to stay in line with the latest trends to ensure your campaign achieves the best possible results. So what's the future of PPC best practices and what has 2020 taught us?

Budget reviews

Unfortunately, advertisers can sometimes get stuck in a routine and forget to reassess and revise the distribution of their media budget. When managing your reviews, you should consider whether low-performing campaigns that have been optimized throughout the year should be eliminated to free up budgets for other campaigns. Competition metrics should be examined to identify if there is any additional traffic that can be captured that will help grow results for winning campaigns.

Try new platforms and features

One of the best PPC practices you should adopt is to test new paid platforms and go beyond your comfort zones. Some advertising platforms you might consider include Pinterest, Snapchat, and LinkedIn. If you have yet to use many of the features at your disposal, you should take some time to test them as you may find one that will benefit your campaign.

Understand the journey of your audience and buyers

It is important that you look at the entire image of the audience you are targeting. In 2021, the most successful PPC marketers will focus on their target audience as part of their strategy. Advertisers who align their PPC marketing efforts with the buyer's journey will be ahead of the curve in 2021. This can be achieved by thinking about the customer and their method when deciding to buy from you. Consider the following: what they might be looking for Where they interact How long the buying process takes Marketers need to evolve their approach and think about engaging the right audience; two important areas for reaching your customers are keywords and images.

Power of first party data

It has been suggested by industry experts that the way data is captured is about to be disrupted. This is due to restrictions on third party cookies in browsers and changes to global privacy policies. Some specialists have even claimed that search engines don't want you to keep track of anything significant in the future. Therefore, it is important that you are able to retrieve some of your traffic data.

Perfect advertising messages

In 2021 it will be more and more important to articulate your message and it will be more valuable to write good ads rather than bad ones. 2021 will be the year to focus on who your customers are as people, rather than just data! Having the right person at the right time but with the wrong message is a completely lost opportunity. What drives that emotional connection and engages someone depends on creativity. Therefore, ad writing and running skills have never been more important.

The mobile experience is important

If brands want to be successful in 2021, they need to have an accessible site, which will be a huge goal next year. There are still so many brands that don't have a website with a good mobile experience, and so many people have never visited their site on a mobile device. Therefore, test and review the mobile experience, especially as many more people are using their mobile devices instead of using desktops and that will continue into the next year.

Re-evaluate how you report

You may have been using the same performance report for years. While it may work well, it's time to reevaluate key PPC metrics and add that data to your reports. For example, this year Google actually removed the average position metric and now suggests using either the top impression rate in search or the absolute top impression rate in search instead. Whether you're using Google Ads or Microsoft Ads, they both have overview pages with helpful charts if you need them quickly. As you reevaluate your reports, you should check if you are still using the data, if the information is usable, and what new metrics you might add. There is only reason to add new data if it is usable and will be useful when making account decisions. Hopefully, this short guide has given you some insight into what PPC best practices will look like next year and what trends and methods you should continue to implement in 2021.

L'articolo Migliori pratiche e strategie per il 2021 sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.

Stages of market research for startups

There is no chance of failing if you follow the path carefully. Here we have listed the main steps that detail how to do market research for a startup idea.

1. Definition of the aims of the market research

Among the several reasons why market research is essential for startups, you need to define your goals for doing market research. Do you want to conduct internal research to investigate problems? So you can set a better strategy for the future. On the other hand, can you focus on external research to analyze the drivers and barriers in the market? Internal marketing research is primarily aimed at increasing sales and revenues. This analysis focuses on past experiences to reduce the risks for future steps. On the other hand, external market research deals with the analysis of the environment and the market in which you operate your business. Market trend research and the activities of other companies are included in external research. Depending on your orientation, you should apply the right method necessary for sustained business growth. First, it's important to create an effective marketing research plan. This plan should have a well-defined purpose that will save you time and money.

2. Ask the right questions

When creating your business plan through market research, there are some fundamental questions to answer. If you are planning to make further decisions, think twice and answer a series of questions regarding your future approaches and activities. Here are some suggested questions for well-planned market research: What is the potential size of my market? Who are my competitors and how big are they? Is there any niche my business can fill? What is the estimated market share of my business and my competitors? Is there anything unique to my business that will be beneficial?

3. Analysis of competitors and the potential market

Market research should start with a look at the entire industry and potential market to specify companies that provide similar products or services to your potential customers.

The first thing you should do is determine your competitors and analyze their business activities to find out their strengths and weaknesses. You also need to use various analytics and metrics tools to perform effective marketing research. Try to choose the best tools that you will benefit most from throughout the whole process. You can check out our article on the best marketing analytics tools that will make your tool selection process faster and easier by offering the best analytics tools especially for startups and small businesses. Through a market exploration tool, you can also check industry trends. Find out what are the drivers and barriers in the market. You can also take advantage of KPIs to understand if a company is doing well and what is needed for sustainability. If you are limited by funds, don't worry as this is so normal for most startups. So, try to choose a tool that you can benefit from the most.

4. Analyze the potential audience

After learning enough about the market and competitors, now is the time to think about your potential customers. who is your target audience? What is your ideal customer profile? Any business without investigating the prospect is very likely to fail after a while. If you want to get people's attention, you need to know more about them. The main goal of any business is to acquire loyal customers. These customers will increase the rate of return. You should pay attention to your customers' personalities, preferences and interests to keep them loyal to your company and optimize your sales. Through a well-designed scheme of your target audience, it will be easier for you to meet their expectations with special offers and personalized plans. You should also estimate the total market potential, market segmentation and target audience size because it will help you better understand your potential customers' needs and preferences. Furthermore, you should also pay attention to the web traffic of your competitors. Try comparing it to yours to see if what you're currently doing is enough to generate sales leads.

Conclusion

If you are a small business or startup, it is vital to do efficient market research to plan your digital marketing strategies and make further decisions. It makes sense to gather insights into the industry, competition, and target audience before committing time and money to your business. To increase your sales and revenue by attracting more people to your brand, you need to take smart steps.

L'articolo Come fare ricerche di mercato per una startup sembra essere il primo su DigiFe Web Agency - Realizzazione posizionamento siti web Ecommerce.
